Rainmaking Recommendation #3 – The Difference 10 Minutes can Make

One of the best Rainmaking habits you can develop is to take 10 minutes every day (at the start of your day) to plan your day.

  • Write down all of the tasks that need to be done,
  • Include at least one Rainmaking activity
  • Then commit it to your schedule and do it!

When you plan your day, nothing falls through the cracks, you don’t forget and you become much more productive.

Then you can never use the excuse: “I didn’t have any time for Rainmaking today.”

What’s the one Rainmaking Activity you can add to your day today?  Please comment below:

Rainmaking Recommendations are sent the first and third Wednesdays of the month.  They are bite size tips that when implemented will cause you to make rain. 1. This is totally antiquated, but I keep all of our leads in my pretty pink notebook. Every Monday, I go through and figure out if they’re A, B, C, or D leads and then schedule my week appropriately. If they don’t move from D to C (and so forth) from one week to the next, I cross them off my list.

But this does two things: Makes people wonder how I “remember” to follow-up and keeps me from thinking a prospect is still a prospect six months later.

Antiquated or not, it works for you! And I believe that what ever works you use.

I write down on 3 ring loose leaf paper all of the phone calls I make, whether I got through, who I have to call back, who called me and the date. And the end of each day, I move the calls that need to be “remade” to my task list for the next day.

  3. I just coached some of my attorneys on doing exactly this! Thanks for sharing.

This simple advice is right on target. What rainmaking tasks do you list?

When I work with my clients, I provide them with various tactics they can use, but coach them to use the ones that most fit within their personalities and practices.
